Review - "Like" Urban Decay NAKED 2 Palette

In all my life I have never really been the one to buy "knock-off" products, but since coming into the world of makeup, I realized that there are makeup products that are duplicated (called dupes) and cost a lot cheaper than the high end makeup brands.  In no way I want to discredit the high end brands but I want to say I tend to be very frugal at times when spending money on makeup.  I have also learned that there is cheap makeup out there that can do the same if not better than some of the high end makeup products.

Here is my quick review on a dupe aka "like" product - the Naked 2 palette. I stumbled across this palette on ebay and decided I should give it a try.

THE PACKAGING

As you can clearly see the packaging is different from the original UD Naked 2 palette. It came in a box and there was not any lipgloss included.  This only came with a brush. Now the palette packaging itself is just as sturdy as the original. The brush is also sturdy.

THE PRODUCT

Comparing to the original Naked 2 palette, the name remains the same.  As I have never owned the original palette I cannot compare the pigmentation of the eyeshadows, but I absolutely love the texture of them. The shimmer ones are so soft and glides on easily to the skin, the matte ones are a bit chalky, but I don't mind.

THE APPLICATION

Here is a very simple look I created using the palette.  It lasted all day with the primers I used and they did not crease.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE

In my opinion I am loving this palette thus far.  I get to do alot of different natural, neutral and smokey looks. This palette can give looks for both day and night. I call it my one stop shop palette.  I enjoy this and maybe just maybe, one day I would consider spending $52 USD for the original and see which one I love better.  I give this palette

4.5/5

LOTD - Wet n Wild I Got Good Jeans

This eye look was done using only the Wet n Wild Trio I Got Good Jeans. These colors are so pigmented and I applied the gold eyelid color wet which gave it an extra pop. I lined the bottom of my waterline with the deep blue crease color as well. This is the first time I used one Trio palette to create an entire look.

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2014 - 19 Reasons

Ipsy has become one of the things I look forward to every month. And for those who haven't caught "Ipsy fever" as yet, here is what you will be getting yourself into - You get to sample amazing products tailored to you before you subscribe for membership. To become a member (which is free) you get to fill out a quiz so that they can personalize your items when they send off the glam bag.  It costs $10 USD and shipping is free to anywhere in the US.  I, however live in the Caribbean - Trinidad & Tobago to be exact and I have obtained a skybox in Miami as Ipsy does not ship international as yet. So I will pay the $10 plus my Shipping and Handling charges from my skybox company in Trinidad and it is still affordable because of all the items I get to try. The subscription promises 4-5 full size or deluxe samples each month. So to my Caribbean readers, yes you can subscribe to Ipsy but you must have a skybox in the US for them to ship the bag to.

INFLUENSTER VOX BOX - Meaningful Beauty Crème de Serum

Everytime I see an email from Influenster I get excited as I know I was picked to complete a survey to be part of an upcoming VoxBox. This time I was selected to try an anti-aging Treatment from Meaningful Beauty.  Lately I have become a bit obsessed with facial products (maybe because I'm getting old lol) and I get happy whenever I get the opportunity to try a new product.

Influenster stated that this Crème de Serum is the ultimate youth-enhancing serum that addresses the past, present and future of your skin, helping reveal a smoother, more evenly-tones and radiant complexion. I haven't been using it everyday, as I don't want it to finish too quick and plus I love how it looks in the bottle. However I did notice it improves the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles on the face which is a positive for this product.

When I received my VoxBox

I love the swirl effect in the bottle

An easy to use pump to dispense the product

Overall I enjoy using this product, however I have a bit of an issue with the smell.  I smells too product-y (if that could explain how it smelled).  But because it actually is working and doing what it supposed to do, I will ignore and move on with it.

I give this product

4/5

Check out Influenster and join for a chance to try products first.

HAPPY NEW YEAR & UPDATE

Wow, it was an extremely busy 2013 for me and yes I must agree I have been totally ignoring this blog, BUT not this year - 2014 has amazing things to look forward to on all my social media outlets!!! Just in case you see my previous blog pics missing, it's because Google messed up my stuff, soo angry about that, but, let's move forward..
I will be spending a lot of time updating you with everything - Makeup, Fashion, Blogmas', and so much more!! Just keep posted and enjoy!!

To kick off the New Year, how about some fashion?? So lately a lot of African-y print styles are becoming huge all around the world. Check out some pics of ways females can wear the traditional Dashiki in a non-traditional way and still look like the star of the day or night.  You will definitely turn heads.
